Winter in the Pyrenees is spectacular
White mountains and blue skies
Skiing – Snowboarding - Cross-Country – Snowshoeing – Sledging
Horse-drawn carriages in the beautiful mountains
Skiing in the Pyrenees is relatively unknown in the UK, but the Pyrenees are wonderful in the winter, receiving more snow annually than the Alps due to their maritime position near to the Atlantic coast. The weather conditions are ideal, stable high pressure systems bringing clear blue skies, interspersed with heavy snowstorms to refresh the slopes.
Just 35minutes away from our beautiful bearnaise holiday accommodation, is the stunning resort of La Pierre Saint Martin, where adults and children can enjoy the glistening snow!
Located 2 kilometres before the ski resort, the Braca forest is an ideal place for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing with its hilly landscape, its sunny forest and its clearings.
Plenty for the Children: La Pierre Saint Martin has all the necessary facilities to welcome young children who feel like playing with the snow or learning to ski. There are two areas especially laid out to discover the joys of sledging and there is a kindergarten for children of ages 3-6yrs for an unforgettable first encounter with the snow in complete safety.
Take advantage of the experience and the knowledge of the qualified guides who can take you on incredible snowshoe walks, with out-of-the-way paths, animal tracks and some unforgettable views! Or perhaps an amazing experience of snowshoeing at night-fall – walking by moonlight aided by headlamps.
Hiring equipment is made easy, either at the resort itself or in the valley.
